Twisted Tree Integrative Therapy
An integrative approach to massage
Who I am and what I do

I started my journey into Massage and Bodywork when I moved to San Antonio in 2005.  I was a single mom trying to survive in the city on our own and I was determined to do what I came to this city to do. Make something of myself and provide my son with the opportunities he deserved.  I worked 2 jobs and went to massage school. I knew before the end of the first week that I was doing what I was meant to do. I fell madly in love with the biological miracle of the human body. My instructor,  Don Maher, was an inspiration for me. He gave me a solid foundation of anatomy and how the body works, he taught me how to listen to and use my body to ensure longevity on my part and to the clients benefit, and, perhaps most importantly,  how to listen to the body and work with what it already wants to do naturally.

Through the years, my fascination and passion for my work has led me down many different paths of learning,  all blending together to create the techniques I use today. I started at the spa end of the industry and quickly moved into more medically focused avenues. I found Oak Haven and Dr. Steven Sheul. That really helped me evolve as a professional.  He offered a tremendous amount of training and the added skill of being a chiropractor. He also believes fully in constructive criticism and honest feedback. He pushed me out of my comfort zone and really taught me how to learn. I trained at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas for oncology massage which led me into working in hospice. I learned that touch is crucial in life, and that it doesn't need to be painful to be effective.  I learned to meet people where they are in life and to know when to check my ego and when to bring it out. I learned therapeutic cupping and the amazing world of fasciaI dabbled as a medical massage therapist,  worked with Airosti, Physical therapists, Osteopaths, and other physicians.  I learned as much as I could from all of them. Ultimately,  what I learned most was that the medical setting was too cold and clinical.  It lacked the calm that I was accustomed to. So back to Oak Haven I went. I stayed with Oak Haven for 12 years, learning and expanding my practice.

Then, enter 2020 and Coronavirus. With all the changes going on, I decided that I needed to change direction too.  I left Oak Haven and Twisted Tree Integrated Therapy was born.
I wanted to create a place where I (and other skilled therapists) can work alongside with the medical community, the holistic health community, counselors, and more to be able to provide a network of care and a fully rounded approach to healing.  In the coming months, I will be adding a list of providers to the website for easy access and adding a calendar of classes that will be offered.
